Teaching Approach

• Design and develop programs that meet students' specific academic, intellectual and social needs.
• Help students learn, develop and practice skills in a stimulating environment that features group work, interactive games, reading buddies and other social activities.
• Create materials for parents to use to learn about their children's progress and to allow them to contribute to their child's learning using new technology.

Outstanding Achievements

• Created Kindergarten podcasts: children and parents can log on and participate in past lessons. Students may also do independent activities, such as singing aloud along with the podcasts.
• Created the Kindergarten literacy program: parents and students are invited to a workshop in June that prepares them for their first school experience. After the sessions are over, parents and children visit the classroom and use the various learning activity stations. They also receive a take-home literacy kit.
• Designed and implemented the Kindergarten-Grade 1 looping project, so she can continue her rich literacy-based program with her Kindergarten students in the next grade.
